Naren Aryal is the co-founder and publisher of Mascot Books and Amplify Publishing. After starting his career as a Washington lawyer, Naren launched Mascot Books in 2003 with the publication of his first book. As an author himself (How to Sell a Crapload of Books: 10 Secrets of a Killer Author Marketing Platform), Naren appreciates the opportunities and challenges facing storytellers. As a publisher, he’s well-versed in the market factors that determine a project’s ultimate level of success. Naren’s more than fifteen years of publishing experience have made him an expert in the editorial, production, distribution, and marketing arenas. He’s passionate about staying up-to-date on industry technology and trends and is a respected commentator on anything publishing-related.

Hobbs AllisonHobbs Allison

Vice President, Publishing

With over a decade of publishing experience, Hobbs has collaborated with hundreds of authors to design comprehensive strategy plans that brought powerful ideas to the marketplace. Using Amplify's customized solutions, he works with authors to navigate the complexities of the publishing world, optimize branding and marketing efforts, and pursue distribution channels. Prior to Amplify Publishing, Hobbs was with Greenleaf Book Group.

Kate McDanielKate McDaniel

Vice President, Acquisitions

Kate oversees the acquisitions team at both Amplify and its parent company, Mascot Books. She’s dedicated to publishing high quality books and thrives when helping industry experts strategize how they can best bring their message to market. From technical innovation to thought-provoking political analysis, Kate searches for books that stimulate systemic change and add to cultural conversations. Before taking over acquisitions for Mascot-Amplify, Kate worked in book marketing and distribution, helping authors launch their titles for the masses. She graduated from Virginia Tech with degrees in public relations and English.

Ben SimpsonBen Simpson

Senior Acquisitions Editor

As a Senior Acquisitions Editor at Mascot-Amplify, Ben is responsible for communicating with thought leaders and industry experts who may be a strong fit for our executive publishing services. He enjoys reviewing projects that offer a fresh or unique spin on a familiar subject matter. While there are many types of projects that can find success through Amplify's publishing process, he specializes in books that cover a specific niche issue or situation. Ben received his B.A. in Communications with a Concentration in Media Production & Criticism from George Mason University.

Senior Acquisitions Editor

Jess strongly believes that books have the ability to change peoples' lives. Collaborating with authors on work that inspires and empowers others is exceptionally important to her. She is deeply dedicated to choosing projects that have the potential to make an impact on each and every reader. As an avid bibliophile, Jess loves working on all genres, but specializes in innovative nonfiction for Amplify. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a B.F.A in creative writing and a publishing certificate.

Kristin PerryKristin Perry

Vice President, Author Services

Kristin ensures that the transition from manuscript to marketing is strategic and seamless, overseeing a variety of titles across multiple genres for Mascot-Amplify. She is an expert on the industry and marketplace factors that contribute to a title's success. A loyal reader of both fiction and non-fiction, she enjoys working on novels, memoirs, and everything in between. Kristin graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in English and a BA in Psychology.

Nina SpahnNina Spahn

Director, Production

Prior to moving to the Washington, D.C., area and joining the Mascot-Amplify team, Nina worked in editorial at a New York publishing house. There, she worked on multiple USA Today and New York Times bestsellers spanning a variety of genres. Nina now specializes in a number of narrative nonfiction genres including business, memoir, self-help, topical nonfiction, and essay collections. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Writing and a BA in Communications, and attended New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute before beginning her career in publishing.

Ricky FrameRicky Frame

Director, Design

Ricky approaches graphic design with strategic thought and fervor, understanding how to translate an author's personal brand into book design. He stays on top of industry trends, studies design theory and applies that knowledge to the visual identity of each project. Ricky received his BA in Graphic Design from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Danny MooreDanny Moore

Director, Creative

Working with Amplify-Mascot since 2004, Danny's contributions include award-winning illustrations, print and web designs, covers, eBook conversions, web games, and app development. He graduated from Auburn University with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration.
