Naren Aryal is the co-founder and publisher of Mascot Books and Amplify Publishing. After starting his career as a Washington lawyer, Naren launched Mascot Books in 2003 with the publication of his first book. As an author himself (How to Sell a Crapload of Books: 10 Secrets of a Killer Author Marketing Platform), Naren appreciates the opportunities and challenges facing storytellers. As a publisher, he’s well-versed in the market factors that determine a project’s ultimate level of success. Naren’s more than fifteen years of publishing experience have made him an expert in the editorial, production, distribution, and marketing arenas. He’s passionate about staying up-to-date on industry technology and trends and is a respected commentator on anything publishing-related.

HobbsHobbs Allison

With over a decade of publishing experience, Hobbs has collaborated with hundreds of authors to design comprehensive strategy plans that brought powerful ideas to the marketplace. Using Amplify’s customized solutions, he works with authors to navigate the complexities of the publishing world, optimize branding and marketing efforts, and pursue distribution channels. Prior to Amplify Publishing, Hobbs was with Greenleaf Book Group.

ErinErin Weston

vice president, marketing

Erin oversees the marketing efforts for all Amplify authors while continuing to further both the Amplify and Mascot brands as leaders in the hybrid publishing world. She stays at the forefront of new media trends and passionate about brand building and content strategy. Erin came to Amplify after almost 10 years of building one of the most distinctive brands in craft beer. Her career began, though, in the publishing world. Fresh out of college, she ghostwrote a book on online engagement on behalf of the two partners of a digital marketing agency, facilitating agent and publisher negotiations. Erin graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in English and journalism.

KristinKristin Perry

Kristin ensures that the transition from manuscript to marketing is strategic and seamless, overseeing a variety of titles across multiple genres for Mascot-Amplify. She is an expert on the industry and marketplace factors that contribute to a title’s success. A loyal reader of both fiction and non-fiction, she enjoys working on novels, memoirs, and everything in between. Kristin graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in English and a BA in Psychology.

NinaNina Spahn

director, production

Prior to moving to the Washington, D.C., area and joining the Mascot-Amplify team, Nina worked in editorial at a New York publishing house. There, she worked on multiple USA Today and New York Times bestsellers spanning a variety of genres. Nina now specializes in a number of narrative nonfiction genres including business, memoir, self-help, topical nonfiction, and essay collections. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Writing and a BA in Communications, and attended New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute before beginning her career in publishing.

RickyRicky Frame

director, design

Ricky approaches graphic design with strategic thought and fervor, understanding how to translate an author’s personal brand into book design. He stays on top of industry trends, studies design theory and applies that knowledge to the visual identity of each project. Ricky received his BA in Graphic Design from West Virginia Wesleyan College. 

DannyDanny Moore

Working with Amplify-Mascot since 2004, Danny’s contributions include award-winning illustrations, print and web designs, covers, eBook conversions, web games, and app development. He graduated from Auburn University with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration.
